Of course, the novel coronavirus (or COVID-19) is at the forefront of everyone’s mind right now. Infection control cleaning has proven effective at controlling and containing this particular virus. In addition, this cleaning method can be used to eradicate e-coli, swine flu, MRSA, and norovirus, among others.
Infection control cleaning is especially effective in CPE, GRE/VRE and ESBL cases. These infections are extremely difficult to treat with antobiotics, and transmission through contaminated surfaces is a serious risk in hospitals and carehomes. To reduce the risk of further infection, treatment areas should be fully decontaminated on discharge of the patient.
Infection control cleaning is a three-stage process, carefully designed to prevent and eliminate infections, and prevent their further spread. First, all surfaces are cleaned and sanitised by hand to ensure no spots are missed. These surfaces are then thoroughly disinfected to kill off any remaining virus or bacteria. Should the situation require it, we will also employ fogging.
Fogging is a cleaning process that creates micro-droplets of disinfectant and biocides. These float in the air for 10 minutes or so, following application. This allows the solution to reach areas that are otherwise inaccessible by conventional cleaning methods.
